This summer, read your way to the ballgame!

It's a brand-new game this summer as Worthington Libraries partners with the Columbus Clippers to bring you the 2011 Summer Reading League!

Make sure you're in the league's starting lineup. Registration starts June 4, 2011.

Game on!

This year, babies, children and teens will read their way around the bases and earn coupons to restaurants like Donatos and City Barbeque and discounts from McConnell Arts Center, Great Clips, Igloo Letterpress, Worthington Parks & Recreation and Columbus Museum of Art.

Players will hit a home run after reading for a designated number of hours. The top prize? A ticket to a Columbus Clippers home baseball game! The boys – and girls – of summer are eligible to receive one ticket for themselves and another for an adult parent/guardian (limit two adult tickets per family).

Activities

Throughout the season, the library's batting a thousand with an all-star lineup of performers and activities. There's something for everyone! Columbus Clippers players and staff will stop by for children's storytimes and Wii Baseball, and there's a cosplay event and dodgeball tournament planned for teens. Outdoor concerts and an all-ages celebration of the release of the final Harry Potter movie will carry you right through summer's seventh inning stretch.
